03/03/2026 to 07/01/2026
Discover the beauty and cultural heritage of Limahuli Garden & Preserve on Kauai’s north shore. This stunning landscape serves as a modern refuge where Native Hawaiian traditions, stewardship, and ecological care continue to thrive.
As you explore the garden, you’ll learn about ancient Hawaiian food systems, some more than a thousand years old, that still nourish local communities today. Wander through Hawaiian forests where native plants are protected and restored.
Limahuli narrates the tale of a thriving ahupuaʻa (traditional land division) and the close ties that support it, from mountain ridge to ocean reef. Your visit is an invitation to experience these relationships firsthand and to strengthen your own connection with the ʻāina (land).
The loop trail is about 3/4 miles long and 200 feet high.
