At Hale Honu, your private lanai becomes your personal lookout over Hanakaʻape Bay.

The home features two bedrooms and two bathrooms, along with upper and lower lounge areas that provide flexibility for relaxing, gathering or simply finding a quiet place of your own. The two bedroom suites are identical in size and both fully air conditioned, making the home particularly comfortable for two couples or families traveling together. Each guest enjoys a comfortable private retreat while sharing the same remarkable oceanfront setting.

Island-inspired furnishings and tropical touches create a relaxed atmosphere that feels appropriate to the setting—comfortable, inviting and designed for enjoying Kauai rather than simply staying indoors. The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare breakfast before heading into the water, enjoy lunch at home between adventures, or gather together for a relaxed dinner while the Pacific provides the backdrop.

The place and location were lovely. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The home was immaculate and exactly as pictured. Central and close to everything in Poipu. Very easy walk to Baby Beach. We saw turtles every day and even had a monk seal siting.

We spent nearly a week at Hale Honu and wanted to stay forever. The home is beautiful and well appointed. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need and there is a fantastic bbq grill as well. The location is incredible with an easy walk to shops, restaurants and beautiful baby beach. I wouldn't hesitate to book again. Mahalo for a wonderful stay.

Our family of myself, my husband and our adult son had a fantastic time at Hale Honu. This is actually our third time staying there. Very comfortable house. We cooked 4 meals in the chef's kitchen, slept like a dream on the very luxurious beds, and enjoyed the lanai overlooking turtle cove. The management company had a lilikoi pie waiting for us in the fridge to thank us for renting with them again! Can't wait for our next stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Hale Honu. The location was perfect- just a few minutes to walk to Baby Beach or to the shopping center. My kids loved just watching the turtles swim around in the nearby stream. The house was beautiful- clean, well decorated and had every supply that we needed. The staff was responsive and helpful.

Hale Honu was in tip top condition1 It was the cleanest rental I have ever been in and everything we needed was provided. Perfect vacation set up for a family and beautifully decorated. It was a great location and yes you will see turtles and monk seals! I was looking for a place that would make me not miss Lahaina so much and this was it!

We have visited Kauai for the past 3 years and this was our best experience yet. You couldn't ask for a better location with amazing ocean views, 5 minute walk to baby beach and of course turtles basking outside your lanai. The house is super clean, well maintained and stocked with everything you could possibly need. The Garden Island folks were very helpful and we met Joanne the owner who helped us out with a glitch with the gate code. Wonderful people, fantastic stay ! Thank you, we will be back !

This was our third time renting the house. It is--in my wife's words "tight" which means the house is thoughtfully designed. The location is ideal and to get a better house in this area, you'd have to pay in excess of $1,500 per night.

This vacation rental is an absolute DREAM! It was immaculate and very up to date/modernized. We traveled to Maui a few years back and this is when we learned that air conditioning was not “common” in Hawaii. I was hopeful since there were only units in the bedrooms that we wouldn’t be miserable. It was so breezy with the sliding doors open upstairs and down that air conditioning was absolutely not needed. We spent most of our time on the lanai watching the turtles. At the end of our trip (sadly) we discovered there was access to actually swim with the turtles. This hidden gem was just steps from the front door around the corner. We would definitely recommend staying here, you won’t regret it!!

Had a great time at "the turtlehouse". Great location! Two minutes away from shopping, restaurants, and numerous beaches. Often spent afternoons just watching the turtles from the deck. Grilled twice for dinner on the nice gas barbeque. Beds were super comfortable, furnishings beautiful and kitchen well stocked and a pleasure to cook in. Outdoor shower an added plus. There was a beautiful flower arrangement on the dining table when we arrived. What management company gives that much attention to detail. Can't wait to come back!<br/>

Gorgeous home in a perfect location on the south shore! Walking distance to the market and shopping! Baby beach is less than a 3 minute walk! I chose this house for two reasons: The turtles and the kitchen! Neither were a let down. We cooked almost every meal with local produce and fresh fish and sat on the lanai to eat! Daily, we would watch the sea turtles come in and out of the cove the sun bathe. Our experience was breath taking!

We loved our stay at Hale Honu! The home is gorgeous, clean and well stocked. The location is fantastic, quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed watching the turtles swim right in front of the house. Baby Beach is just a few minute walk away and was perfect for our toddler. The home is so well taken care of and the owners have really thought of everything to make your time there relaxing and comfortable. We hope to be back soon!

We had such a wonderful stay at Hale Honu. The house is absolutely beautiful with top notch furnishings and very well maintained. If you love sea turtles you must stay here, we saw turtles everyday with a high count of 22 at one time - it was really special. The house is located on a quiet side street but within walking distance of The Shops at Kukui&#x2019;ula and Baby Beach. My wife and I traveled with my wife&#x2019;s parents so the layout worked great for us, parents used the downstairs bedroom and bath while we had the main bedroom and bath upstairs. And with living ares upstairs and downstairs it allowed for people to have space if needed. Opening up the windows and shutters provided nice breezes and kept the home very comfortable, having AC in the bedrooms for sleeping was very nice. The kitchen is gorgeous with everything you could possibly need and an awesome BBQ outside that I was thrilled to use. We didn&#x2019;t have any issues during our stay that necessitated contacting the vacation rental agency but we did have to reschedule our stay from July 2020 to July 2021 (due to a global pandemic you may have heard about) and they were great with that change. We can&#x2019;t wait to stay at Hale Honu again and would highly recommend you stay here too.

Having stayed next door at Whaler's Cove a few years back, we wanted to experience the amenities the area has to offer but with a bit more space. We loved the newness of the house, the fantastic floor plan, the quietness of the neighborhood, the views and its proximity to the places we enjoy. You can't beat seeing so many sea turtles from your lanai or whales breaching in the near distance. The crushed rock drive and walkway proved impossible to use with my mom's scooter so we're lucky she's not confined to it. On balance, this property receives an A+ from me. Kudos to its owners and the owner's management company.

All together an incredible experience. The property is very well done, it's quite comfortable, "the AC was much appreciated at night", and perfectly located for shopping, dining, or beginning you journeys around the island. This was all we could ask for, and much better than expected.<br/><br/>Aside from enjoying the property, sharing seven days with the sea turtles was an experience of a lifetime. There were so many of them traveling in and out of the cove, swimming in and sunning themselves on the rocks for hours, and them swimming back out to sea. What an experience to see them in their natural habitat. It seemed as if they were performing the Happy Hanu Show for us daily.<br/><br/>We'll be back for sure... Mahalo to the owners for sharing Hale Honu with us on our retirement vacation.

Staying at the Hale Honu was the ultimate Hawaiian experience. I wanted to stay somewhere that was near the ocean so I could see/hear the Ocean but also had A/C AND was decorated like a home AND not a cheaply done vacation rental. This home met and exceeded my requirements. Absolutely would stay here again.
